I identified the issue as a broken corner on the plastic molding (probably broken at a dealership trying to fix the leak). Any ideas on where to buy just the corner I need ... rather than the whole @/%+$% thing? | | | 01-09-2009, 12:04 AM | #92 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | good luck! it would help if you posted a pic though. A good place to start is realoem.com for part breakouts and numbers. If you can prove the dealer broke it you'll be wayyyy better off. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 12-06-2009, 03:52 AM | #93 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: winder ,ga Posts: 12 | I got no sunroof but I got air condition. | | | 12-26-2009, 05:03 AM | #94 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: USA Posts: 9 | normal sun roof However, I did see a guy on craigslist the other day selling a carbon fibre delete panel for a e36 series. Though my sunroof works fine it was really tempting to shed all that extra weight. anyone know where a person could get one of these panels? | | | 12-26-2009, 05:31 AM | #95 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by remerglobal However, I did see a guy on craigslist the other day selling a carbon fibre delete panel for a e36 series. It came with the standard sunroof, but it's rarely ever open. I wish I didn't have it - I heard that's close to 50 pounds of extra roof weight! I checked with a custom body shop about removing it a few years back, but found out getting rid of it (cleanly) would be more $ than it's worth. After 15 years of ownership, it still doesn't leak, so I guess I can't complain. __________________ Breaking traction isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I prefer it to happen by choice rather than circumstance. | | | 03-06-2011, 05:37 PM | #104 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Massachusetts Posts: 23 | 1997 Montreal Blue Active. Cali top with A/C. I've had it for 2 days. Any thoughts/ cures for highway speed wind noise with the top open? Not a good open-air type noise. More of an eardrum buffeting noise. Has anyone tried a small wind deflector? Tried a quick search on the topic with no luck.
