Are you sure the needle is sticking? The famous dual-mass flyheel is designed to hold the revs up, to reduce emmisions. When the engine comes off revs fast, the vacuum runs high drawing fuel into the combustion chamber, which is then pumped out, partially un-burned. If the needle is in fact sticking, you will need another cluster. About $300.00 from the dealer plus instalation/coding (an hour or two). The cluster is a replaceable part, and prone to failure in the E36. There is no fixing it yourself. My used M3 cluster is intermittent, so I purchased a new replacement M3 cluster. The dealer was unable to code it, so I have to try another dealer. It sits, patiently waiting, in the back of my car... I would offer to sell you mine (which works perfectly) but I need to get one working in my car, and may have to go back to the original one, re-set for six cylinders... |
