On unlocking the car I get three chirps. If I recall that means it either never set the alarm or the alarm was triggered. I believe it is the former. Doors/hatch locks and unlocks just fine, but I get no LED flash on the set alarm indicator. I'll research to see what's up there. I replaced the broken glovebox with a working and intact replacement I picked up at the yards for $17. Also went to the dealer and ordered a spare key. It'll be a few days. It is slowly coming together... | I found as much improvement adding the x-brace as I did the front strut tower brace. Will be interested in getting your report. Cheers! It took a couple of attempts before I got all sealed. | | | 06-02-2014, 08:34 PM | #123 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | A few days ago my rear antenna literally came off in my hand. Texas sun had baked the upper mounting grommet brittle. Lucky I didn't lose the antenna on the road. Replaced grommet this past weekend. I was also lucky that I had not yet but the hatch liners back in the car from my rear strut brace intallation. No worries, I will reinstall it on my son's 325i. I put a rear bar on that car and it really improved the sedan's handling. The front bar should make a noticeable difference. I contacted the vendor for a different bar or I'll get a Sparco from Turner. I'm glad you like your rear strut bar. It does make a nice difference for a small price. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Also picked up a 3 button alarm control module from the yards and ordered a key fob. Picked up a A frame interior trim piece, a pristine passenger side leather lower seat cover and a white non marred hood for my 95 Active. Nice to have a straight non bondo'ed hood that latches both sides. Smooth unlock now, less strain on hood release. Picked up a roll of 20mil plumbers vinyl tape to tighten up the center A/C vents as they are very loose on both cars. Both car's vents repaired tonight. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Front FOGGed the stock airbox. (I love this mod, double the potential airflow now, feels more responsive). Total fail on the aluminum radiator. it is setup for an E36 six engine, not the ti as advertised as. Picked up a Behr and dropped it in. Replaced the radiator, changed both drive belts, powerwashed the underside and front sides of the engine on the 95 Active. Clayed, polished and waxed the exterior. Cleaned the caked on brake dust off the wheels. Replaced the passenger side lower leather seat cover with an intact one I found at the yards. Conditioned all leather seats, ebrake boot. Replaced a fan clutch on my 318ic, 2nd one in as many years. Not cool to find out you have a failing one in 105 degree weather. It was 105 and I had to ride home. top down with the heater on full blast. No harm, other than sweaty seats and shorts. Ordered the next batch of renewal parts for both cars next weekends work. Also wrote a DIY for the Spinning Ignition Lock issue and fix. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Averaged an easy 31 MPG the entire time. There is still more to do to the car. However, it will always get me to where I need to be without a problem. __________________ 2000 M5 -> 1996 318ti -> 1997 328i Instagram: ndrewchow YouTube: MINIzguy | | | 06-09-2014, 06:20 AM | #131 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: SF bay Posts: 183 | Quote: Originally Posted by BlackBMWs Replaced the radiator and fixed a spinning Ignition lock issue on ...blah blah blah blah blah blah... home with the heater on full blast.
