Here, dealer door handle $31 - Pelican $8.60. Average is 2.2x Pelican. But you can't put a price on "convenience". __________________ '99 ti /Mtechnic, Schwartz II, Meyle Control Arms w/Full Metal Ball Joints, PowerFlex poly LCAB's, Pirelli P Zero/Nero 225/50/16, "the d-baffle"...... | | | 08-10-2006, 10:48 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2004 Location: Virginia Posts: 368 | I guess they figure if you can afford to live in Kalifornia and drive a BMW then you must be rich. Unfortunately BMW can't do a thing about dealers that mark-up from the suggested list price. I'd call around to some other dealers just to check, and also see if they offer a BMW CCA discount. I'll bet you can do a lot better than that. You must have, what?, 15 dealers in the Bay area? What a rip-off. By the way, Pelican shows that part at $17.50 Quote: Front Interior Door Handle, Left, Black, BMW E36 3 Series, All (1992-99) Brand: Genuine BMW 51-21-1-960-807-M9 $17.50 | | | | 08-12-2006, 06:53 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | I got a spare door handle in the parts bin(got most of the door in the parts bin). Shipping via USPS would be 2.00... So I'd say 12.00 shipped. | | | 08-12-2006, 04:21 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: San Francisco Posts: 308 | Aha! I'd refer to that as a latch, I meant something more like #5. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...67&hg=51&fg=50 __________________ '99 ti /Mtechnic, Schwartz II, Meyle Control Arms w/Full Metal Ball Joints, PowerFlex poly LCAB's, Pirelli P Zero/Nero 225/50/16, "the d-baffle"...... | | | 08-19-2006, 03:14 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | #5 is what broke on me too. | | | 08-20-2006, 11:27 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2004 Location: Virginia Posts: 368 | Quote: Originally Posted by Mad-Machine #5 is what broke on me too. | That part's under $10 even on Realoem.com which is usually higher than dealer's MSRP. How do you break one of those? Anyway, it's got to be cheaper from a dealer since Pelican lists it for about $9, says it's special-order only, uses OEM in front of the part number so you know they have to order it from BMW, and won't accept any returns on it. Remember, no shipping at your local dealer. | | | 08-21-2006, 01:59 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Portland Oregon Posts: 1,363 | i need that rubber stuff thatrs around the handle... | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
