Talking Junk Yard Gold Part 2

I found another 1996 318ti in a local pick-a-part today. It was Calypsorot Metallic. There were several good parts on the car. Both doors and both bumper covers were near mint. The tan interior had been vulturized by idiots without the correct tools. There were three smashed windows (windshield, drivers rear pop-out and the hatch). The drivers side door panel was still attached, so I took it off to get to the clips. I stuck an allen wrench in the sunroof motor to test it out. The roof opened, closed and tilted perfectly. So, I decided to grab it. The sagging headliner came out with ease. I had the whole cassette out in about half an hour. The paint is perfect. Total cost was $43.50.
I also snatched the 318ti badge, the 3 button ac switch, one window switch, drivers door mirror adjuster and wire loom, drivers door window guide w/felt, alarm (and a second one out of a 1995 325i), the red cap in the spare tire compartment and the tow hook cover off of the rear bumper.
All-in-all...another successful trip to the bone yard.

Lucky! I don't think I've ever seen a 318ti in a yard here.

There are few things I hate more than coming across a car in the boneyard that is intact and was well cared for, only to find that someone without proper tools or knowledge has destroyed several perfectly good parts/pieces to get to a $5 part.

Congrats on the score, though!

I've seen it done twice now...it's like these dudes get inside the cars and tear them apart for no reason. All of the parts appear to be on the floor in front of the passenger seat. Craziness!
Here's a pic I took of the car.

The rear parcel shelf was there...but, beat to sh!t. It is at Colorado Auto & Parts off Santa Fe and Oxford in Englewood.
