Had a good time driving the car 12 hours home from FL. I just spent a year fixing up an e30 for my son and now I'll be working on this one for my daughter, but it won't take a year on this one. In a month or so I should be able to get all the maintenance and fixes done. The only things that I've found that need immediate attention are a new thermostat and it looks like it has the oil filter housing leak. Then it's belts, filters, fluids, brakes, other general maintenance and it has a broken tail light and a dent in the left rear quarter. This is my fourth used bmw and it's alot of fun to drive, although if it were going to be my car, I wouldn't have gone for the auto. | | | 02-18-2009, 04:38 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: NJ Posts: 1,625 | beautiful car - welcome & good luck. while updating the cooling system, you may want to take a look into these 2 items as they are a common cause of failures and leaks... one is between the engine & the firewall while the other is under the intake manifod & fuel rail. also, if dont already know about it - this site is your BEST friend: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...3&mospid=47506 laslty, once you get closer to 100K - you may want to replace the timing chain tensioner - as if it goes - it causes a lot of damage... cheers. __________________ SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!SOLD!
