Default BMW M3 Clubsport?

Saw the following on Ebay and was thinking about calling shenanigans on it but I know that I haven't researched everything about the ti, but this guy is claiming that his ti is a rare M3 model, 1 of only 300 made! So I wanted to check my facts with some of you that are more knowledgeable, especially since this is the only M3 I have seen with a 4 cylinder (other than the E30's). So I am guessing that this guy doesn't know that it is a ti sport or is just trying to get rid of it quick. Opinions?

you didn't post a link to the add but....
It is like most sellers on eBay or anywhere else calling things what they aren't to sucker people into it!... If it is a 95' Clubsport it is by no means an M3 Clubsport since that was never ever made!...

Yeah, I forgot that. Here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-31...3A1|240%3A1318

I did do some research and found that BMW did make an M3 Compact but IIRC it never made it to the States. But it of course was a six cylinder, something that this "M3 318ti" is missing by about two cylinders.

They did? I've never heard or seen one.

i am sorry, but that ti with that bs?, that rear end damage and starting at $4000, DON'T even consider it, the guy is asking WAY, WAY too much, I wouldn't pay half that, the rear quarter panels are the most expensive to replace. not to mention the mileage. you are better off looking elsewhere where there is plenty of tis for sale in MUCH, MUCH better condition.

That was only a one off concept, it was never a model for sale.

yep, they did actually... I read it in European Car mag about a decade ago.
they only made one (or a few), I think, to test it out - & deemed it 'too tail happy' - loose in the back due to the power, I'm guessing.

but yeah, 'they' were made...

the one from the add isn't it! LOL

P.S. & it ain;t wrth 12K - thats for sure.

I just bought a rear quarter panel from Tischer for only 240 bucks, not too expensive. But then there was the inner structure, rear bumper, bumper absorber, M Tech bumper cover, etc., etc.....

This is the same guy I bought Josh's messed up and badly neglected old Club Sport from. He does like to ramble on, and isn't much for writing that would make an English teacher happy, but I found dealing with him to be very honest and straightforward.

He made it very clear to me that the car he bought from Josh was pretty rusty and that the photos I saw on ebay didn't show the rust and wear as well as seeing the car in person. Josh didn't say much about the rust in his ebay ad, and didn't show any pictures of it. Shame on him. Needless to say, I would buy another car from A, but not from Josh based on what I've seen of the two ads.

A is sorta in love with his M3, and I think he just likes it better, especially since it is a lot like his CS but faster. I think he also needs to devote more money to his family (another reason to like having 4 doors) and the M3, and not spend it on the Club Sport. He isn't as mechanically inclined as some of us, and I think the repairs it needs are more than he can afford unless he can do a lot of the work himself.

The insurance appraisal is what it is. He was very reasonable and realistic about the car I bought from him, and didn't try to tell me it was worth more because of the appraisal. There's a good reason why insurance companies are in such tough times, and it's not only the forces of mother nature.
