Haha I agree with you I've seen a lot (normal) Compacts riding around.
But I don't like those I like mine 318TI:-).

After going to an E46 325i from my ti I have to say no one has a right to give ti drivers crap. The 318ti is a very solid car and I already want another one. I never understood how people thought they were ugly either, have you seen the stuff they post on bf.c?

I haven't driven my ti in a few weeks because I needed to swap tires and pads.
I still love the car. I have a quiet road through an industrial park. They put two circles and a few s turns. I love it.

Too true... I went from a is300 to my ti, and I truly enjoy it more. The clowns on bf.c are just ignorant. The funny part is that when I talk with forum members in person, they grudgingly admit they always really liked the ti...

My personal favorite is the clowns who have never even driven the car assuming things. I think its mostly a bandwagon kind of thing and everyone does it cause its fun to bash things over the internet. Haha.

imo the e21 is the most under rated, unloved of all bmw's, next to the ti hatch.

Lol, what about the e46ti?

I actually like the e46ti now. At first I hated it. But it's a extreamly unique design that no other 3 series have.

I'm holding out for the 1-series 3 door compact with the turbo diesel engine.

That was my 1st BMW.

And the 1 Compact looks like an M Coupe (a car I do not own but love dearly).

i've been debating between a r53 pepper white cooper s or an alpine white 135i.

I've seen some horrible 1-series... but recently post facelift, it's all about the 3-door and the coupι. I saw a nice one-year old graphite metallic 3-door M-sport edition with red half-leather interior and I swear it was SEXY.
The 1 series, like the compact, will never be the mass volume seller simply because most people that spend compact/1er money on a car generally tend to go larger or for a roadster like an MX5. And most of the ones that do buy base or standard model ones. But that isn't really unpopularity, it's just that the product is a bit niche, and that's what means that 10-12 years on, a lot of us dudes who can't afford to drop more than a grand or two on a car can end up with something really stylish and unusual, but with BMW reliability and pedigree! I'm pretty sure my ti turns more heads than a sedan, and sure, e36 coupιs are pretty but there's more of them. The ti is a car that has matured with age and I feel that in 10 years time a late-model of the current 1er will be just as well-loved.
