Don't let the insurance co. 'blue book' their way out of it- I would pressure them to replace your car in-kind, rather than settle for an undervalued blue book cash amount. Most importantly, I hope everyone is OK! | | | 07-03-2011, 01:50 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Kingman az Posts: 37 | Yeah i wasn't' driving my own bmw my brother had to use it while we replace almost everything is my bros 2003 evo 8. so he was coming home from working and was at a stop boom! got hit.. does anyone know what will happen to the car after the accident to where it won't rly want to stay running? i have not been able to check into what the car does. | | | 07-03-2011, 03:49 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | hate to be the one to say it but quarter panel damage is expensive to repair and the book value on ti's is pretty low, you might be looking at a total | | | 07-03-2011, 03:51 AM | #8 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by spazman1990 Yeah i wasn't' driving my own bmw my brother had to use it while we replace almost everything is my bros 2003 evo 8. so he was coming home from working and was at a stop boom! got hit.. does anyone know what will happen to the car after the accident to where it won't rly want to stay running? i have not been able to check into what the car does. | Bummer man. I know your bro wasn't at fault and didn't mean for this to happen, but these things always seem to happen when someone else is driving our cars As for the car not running well or stalling, it could be that the exhaust got pushed forward possibly damaging the catalytic converter and/or exhaust manifold. If I'm not mistaken, there's also crash sensors that may have activated and immobilized the vehicle. | | | 07-03-2011, 04:18 AM | #9 | Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Kingman az Posts: 37 | Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 Bummer man. Sorry for your loss. I can't imagine that it won't be a total loss. I hope your brother's stiff neck gets better AFTER the settlement! It might have something to do with the fuel pressure regulator, yours is located down by the fuel filter which is undernesth the car just inward of the driver's door. Couldn't tell from the pics, but did the driver's airbag deploy? I think the doors are supposed to automatically unlock, the hazards and maybe the interior lights are supposed to come on, fuel gets shut off to the engine and a few other things. | | | 07-03-2011, 04:36 AM | #12 | Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Kingman az Posts: 37 | yeah that would be nice if they told you that in like a manful or something | | | 07-03-2011, 04:40 AM | #13 | Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Kingman az Posts: 37 | What if the car is totaled how much do you think i could get i think it has like 160XXX on it. | | | 07-03-2011, 04:41 AM | #14 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by spazman1990 yeah that would be nice if they told you that in like a manful or something | I think it does mention it in the owners manual.
