Default Custom Subwoofer Project

I think it's a well known fact that the ti's have the WORST sounding stock stereo setup so I decided to tackle the issue. I replaced the rear shelf with a custom made/integrated subwoofer box. The edges are the weak point in terms of finish because the carpet I used wouldn't contour all the edges very well. I think I'm going to try some fabric paint but its not a priority at this point (The pics make it look worse than it is).

I already had an Alpine CDA-9886 head unit so I went with an Alpine SWE-1043 10" sub and custom made the box enclosure to Alpine's specs for that driver. Driving it with an Alpine MRP-M500 mono amp at 300watts into 4 ohms. I'm not one for earth shattering, sub sonic , tooth rattling bass - I just want to compensate for the absolute absence of any bass.

System works great so far. If I had it to do again I would have made the depth a couple inches less and the compensated by making it longer/wider.

Let me know what y'all think.

interesting way of mounting it, is it just set on the speaker housings or is it attached somehow? seems like it would move around when the bass hits

Actually, I think the have OK sounding stereos for mid-90's factory systems (especially if you got the 10-speaker system), but you're right- they have ZERO bass. I probably would have mounted the amp underneath, too, but nice work!

It's wedged in there pretty snug so I don't think the kind of bass it's designed for is going to move it around.

Thanks Zoner.
