Finding the bolt, and getting access to removing it is a whole 'nuther thing! If your car is an automatic, give up now. There are few BMWs more difficult to replace the starter on than an automatic 318ti. A stick is slightly easier because you don't have the transmission case reinforcement casting to deal with when trying to get a wrench on it as you do in the automatics. It looks easy. It isn't. If your price includes the new starter (and I'd replace the whole thing, not just the solenoid with these starters' history), then that's a screaming deal. Take it. -Phil | | | 08-29-2005, 04:28 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2004 Posts: 143 | Okay... Yes its An Automatic.... It's bolted through the transmission housing at the back and top of the engine. -Phil | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
