Default Worst luck of my life- crashed my beautiful car

Hello guys, I bought a BABIED alp white 1998 318ti base model 5 speed, one old lady owner since new, clean carfax, 2 dozen service records, amost like new interior, and went through a tree stump sideways 30-45 minutes later because the road was wet and the rear tires were almost bald. I feel like I bought a priceless work of art and shat all over it. Limited slip diffs don't help for **** once you're already hurtling down the road completely sideways on bald rear tires (if you wanna tell me i shouldve stuck my finger in the tread to check it, don't bother. I already feel like a retard since this isn't my first used car). No one was hurt- the car maybe saved my life. The problem is that now, I dont know whether to fix or part out. Doesn't look like there's anything but minor frame damage. If I'm lucky, there's none or very very little. Only thing that leaked out was coolant, and I think it's a line. The radiator even looks intact but is WAY off. One of the kidney grill pieces ended up in the engine bay. I don't wanna start it till I know what I'm looking at, the battery flew out but didn't disconnect. Intake manifold is torn to shreds. Stabilizer linkage broke, though the car still steers. I only have one pic, I'll post more later.

I'm leaning towards fixing the car since it was like new before the crash, though if I part out, you guys are welcome to whatever comes off. The engine, trans, and diff look like they were completely spared. And I'd hate to kill such a rare car, so please give me some decent input! Anything. The car rolls and steers FTR, and I gotta get it out of my girlfriend's dad's driveway before he kills me. Lol. If anyone knows of a good chassis for cheap, or whether this looks like it was spared from frame damage, please let me know. I'll pull body panels and the intake off as soon as I have access to a ratchet set. Cheers, and let's hope you guys had slightly better luck than I in recent history.

PS the pass side airbag broke the windshield. The windshield broke out from inside.

Bummer.
Glad to hear that you came out uninjured.

Damn!!! It's a real blessing that you weren't injured. Shame about the car though. Sounds like you had a really clean car....

Good luck.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna try to fix her most likely. Going to a shop today to get some allen keys and a ratchet set to peel off this bodywork and radiator support mess. If there's bad frame damage, it's a part-out. Motor and everything behind was pretty much spared, save for windshield and airbags.

I made this profile as soon as i put a down payment on the thing, and then I paid it off. One hour after i paid, it was on the side of the road looking like that. I'll put the new pics up soon.

^That sucks to hear, coming from someone who went through and is still going through it. That's an impact speed of 30-35 and it makes the car look like a tin can, I can only guess at what wouldve happened if I went faster.

It has minor frame damage. If someone wants me to fix it up professionally and buy it from me, that's cool with me. Otherwise, I'm looking for a decent chassis for sale and keeping the engine, trans, diff, interior, and odds and ends.

Sorry about your car, but glad to hear that no one was hurt. I'll go ahead and say it: your car is totaled. I would take what the insurance company will give you, provided that you had collision coverage and put that money toward another ti. Good luck, John

Yeah, I didn't have full coverage lol. I had two mechanics look at the car before I peeled off the bodywork, they said theres prob frame damage. I have pics of what it looks like after i pulled off a few things (intake, hood, plastic shields). i'd do the fenders but i need some damn allen keys or hex keys or whatever theyre called to get them off. until i can get them off idk what i'm looking at either. the engine was DEFINITELY spared. radiator was also spared, though it's way off. i'll upload pics in a few hrs.
