It's generally used to filter impurities out of fluids, not air. Not to mention carbon isn't real nice to combustion. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 01-18-2006, 01:01 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Lincoln Park Capitol Hill, Washington DC Posts: 741 | Aceyx, the carbon in this case is that the filter housing is made of carbon fiber. I've seen this system and it's just a variation of another cold air intake. __________________ It's always a great day to be underwater and play with the fish.....preserve our oceans and reefs" Fariz 1997 318ti, Hellrot (Bright Red), Dinan Stage 2 Chip 16x7 OEM sport Wheels/X-Brace/Custom Strut Brace/Cold Air Intake/M-Tec Steering Wheel/Koni Adjustable FrontShocks/ Bilstein Sport Rear Shocks /H&R Sport Springs/Custom fabricated strut tower brace/Rear Strut brace, Stromung Exhaust Future Mods: E46 17" wheels or Kosei K-1 17x8.5s | | | 01-18-2006, 06:39 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | from the design I am thinking of a fogged air box. | | | 01-18-2006, 07:20 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Muncie, Indiana Posts: 1,551 | They tested this in an issuer of Eurotuner that I have (had). They liked it on the dyno it was about mid-pack for gains, but they liked the flxible piping because it could draw air in from anywhere. | | | 01-19-2006, 03:06 AM | #7 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Never heard or seen this before,i'd be hesitant to put it in my car. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 01-19-2006, 08:26 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | Quote: Originally Posted by AlaskaBlue They tested this in an issuer of Eurotuner that I have (had).
