any E36 Front Strut will Fit the Compact, the problem is that our cars have a 4cyl engine and the others have 6cyl engines... meaning that they are designed for a heavier load and your suspension would be a bit out of whack...
I'm not sure if the 320's engine is heavier than ours but... if it is in the same range then I would say yes... go for it!... If not stick to the Compact or Z3 1.9 Front Struts... But if you have lowering springs Go with OEM M tech struts or Bilstein Sport.

H&R Sport Springs, if you can find Eibach Springs... or the BavAuto Springs. I have BavAuto Springs with OEM M Tech Shocks/Struts and my car is LOW!... Feel free to look at my car's profile pictures and you'll see how low... But if you have the money to do a whole Shock/spring combo there are a couple out there that offer Bilstein Sport w/ H&R Springs (Turner Motorsport) and Bilstein Sport w/ BavAuto Springs (Bavarian Autosports) for a fair price... at least less than it would be getting them separate...

Also I just looked at your pictures... it would depend on what wheels you are running as well, the CSL Replicas are a bit too big to run a lowered set up IMO.

The thing is that OEM are not designed for lowering springs, so they'll fail sooner than expected. The only ones I know of designed for lowering Springs while maintaining a smooth ride are Bilstein Sport Struts/Shocks, and I would say H&R Sport Springs. That would Give you what you're looking for, a lower stance with good handling when you need it, with comfort...
That is one of the reasons I tell people to stay away from Coilovers, they sure sound great and the idea of having an adjustable suspension is super, but the ride characteristics are not for everyone...

no the coilovers wer great at the start but now im getting very tired of them
hence im looking for standerd now
another question i have been looking at struts and i see some come with long drop link kinda looking things on them
if i was to get these i wouldnt need the long droplinks and just keep my short ones that go from wishbone to antiroll bar
