Default Custom Sub enclosure

Just finished installing the sub box I've been building for the last few days. It's made out of fibreglass & mdf, houses a 12" Alpine S class & weighs about ½ of what an all mdf box would. Sound the muts nuts as well
What'd yall reacon?

If anyone fancies having a go at building one for themselves here's the tutorial that inspired me.
http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?t=76606
My box differs a little as I built the baffle out of fibreglass to give it a bit more volume.

Damn! That is pretty darn cool.

I have dual 12" Rockfords in a bandpass box...but it takes up pretty much the whole trunk...I may look into that as an alternative.

Nice work!

It's actually alot easier than you'd think, just make sure you cover everthing with plastic trash bags/tape. I got a small drop of resin on my bumper & there's no way it'll come off. The carpets not a perfect match although it looks ok, it's just standard black 'sub-box' carpet I got off ebay for a few quid. Here's a good site that shows how you get the contoured frount baffle shape using fleece stretched over an mdf ring: http://web.njit.edu/%7Ecas1383/proj/main/

The seat backs are sheet metal under the trim so I just drilled pilot holes & used self tapping screws.

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

No, the setup as it is doesn't need another sub. I'm into sound quality not SPL/streetbass. One thing I have done since, is fit some sub ports in the parcel shelf to let some of that sweet bass into the cabin.

I build enclosures on both sides just for my amps.
Removed the spare wheel and build a sub box under there and fliped the sub over (so can see the chrome) and centered it in the boot!

shop quote: £400
DIY Price: £35 plus 2 days labour

can you believe that!!!!!!!
