After inspection, I noticed a rubber mount(I'm guessing a lower engine mount) had broke. Appears as if the stud going through the mount and into the arm that connects to the block had broke. Can anyone help me finding a part number for this mount? If you look down the passenger side of the motor, b/w it and the fender well, you can see it located on I guess is what the front axle support? A long arm sits on it(part of the engine mount) that I guess connects to the engine block. The only rubber mount I could find says it is on the subframe. | | | 01-24-2008, 03:08 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Concord, NC Posts: 28 | That does seem to be it. Thanks, for some reason I couldn't find it to save my life on realoem.com. Any tips on getting this sucker replaced? Loosen up the other mounts I guess and get a cherry picker to support the engine? | | | 01-24-2008, 03:13 AM | #4 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | it sounds scary, but you can jack on the oil pan with a piece of wood between the jack and the pan. if one mount is bad, the other may be close behind so i would recommend doing both. however, replace one at a time when actually doing the replacement. i used something like 2 1/2 feet worth of extensions and an elbow to come down from the top to loosen them. __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 01-24-2008, 03:37 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Concord, NC Posts: 28 | Hmmm, not really looking forward to it. I may just sell it "as is". Any idea what it may be worth? '95 with just over 190K miles. Body is not in the best condition, driver side window needs to be fixed(cheap fix), no radio. The car drove great before the mount went. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
