So I visited BavAuto and confirmed that it does cost $200. The fact that the automatic shift knob requires more mechanical engineering, it rightfully should cost more than a manual shift knob. However, this does not justify the $200 that BavAuto wants. I've decided to never buy from BavAuto as I'm now disgusted. I'm looking at this particular knob for my 5 speed: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sparco-Globe-X-B...QQcmdZViewItem Though it is a used knob I've seen these listed new for $55 every now and then. Currently the going price is $70, so if I don't get this one, I'll wait until another pops up for $55 | | | 01-11-2007, 01:38 AM | #3 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | I think your missing something here guys, your not just purchasing the shift knob your purchasing the whole shifter assembly. Thats a deal if it stays at $10. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 01-11-2007, 02:39 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | Quote: Originally Posted by Tyler I think your missing something here guys, your not just purchasing the shift knob your purchasing the whole shifter assembly. M = manual mode, once in this mode you shift your own gears 1,2,3,4. It's basically a tiptronic shifter. Do you have an auto or manual? __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 01-11-2007, 03:45 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Austin, TX Posts: 250 | i have an auto, but i dont have the owners manual....so i cant figure out how excatly to use the M A switch __________________ | | | 01-11-2007, 06:13 AM | #8 | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: florida Posts: 37 | i have auto too i like to pretend my car is manual everytime i get into the racing mood i press the M and i shift my gears manually and it does make your car accelerate faster also changes gears faster than just driving using the A | | | 01-12-2007, 12:04 AM | #9 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Also you can leave it in sport mode which is drive 3 and is quicker than the M mode. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
