Default Shudder in back end

Hi all, I have a 97 318ti sport compact and when I'm between 2500 and 3500 rpm I get a shudder through the centre of the car coming from the back end. If I drive it slower than a grandma it doesn't do it. As far as I am aware the whole car is still stock, any help will be greatly appreciated

sounds like maybe the center support bearing or flex disc.

How costly would this be and how would I find out which one it is, also how easy would it be to fix myself

Well, you'd have to start by looking under the car. Make sure to use jackstands. Chances are, both of those parts are original and probably worn. Look for any obvious signs of wear or damage. Give the driveshaft a little wiggle. Again, make sure the car is properly seated on jackstands. The parts aren't too expensive, I'd imagine neither cost more than a hundred bucks. It may be worth your while to pay a shop to put it on a lift and help you diagnose the problem.
