There is a sticky in the for sale section to get the manual...

I can ship one today once I have payment. Wiring diagrams are sent via down-load link so you get those right away!

Default Re. manual

Hello Jim,

I will be tackling a 99 328 swap into my 97 Ti this Spring. Does your guide cover OBDII > OBDII including the wiring diagrams for what I will need from the donor car? I will be getting the following parts from the 328: longblock, all accessories, harness, motor mounts, radiator, ECU, EWS, and chips from the keys. I there anything I am missing? I will be purchasing a copy of you manual, if it covers what I need for this swap.

Thanks,

Jae

Default Re. manual

Sounds good Jim. Look for my order in the coming months. I use my bike right now to get around town while the Ti sits in the garage with a broken M44. It will come back to life in the Spring w/ the help of your manual.

in your manual does it describe what to do to for the safety start up feature with the clutch pedal? to make it work so you have to push in the clutch to start up the car???

I'd not worry about it, lots of cars don't have them...
For instance my Jeep never had one, and that's good
because there are times I want to start it in gear.

But if you need it, it goes inline with the wire that
activates the starter from the ignition switch.

Hi,

i have a 1.9 Z3, in which i d like to fit an S52 engine. I understand that ti's and Z3's share many parts. Is your swap manual the way to go?

Hello and welcome.

The manual will provide you with a wealth of information.

All E36's are similar; Z3's and ti's (and M3's for that matter) are different; however the platform is the same, and therefore the information in the manual is totally relevant.

Check the for sale section for ordering information. It will be the best (and likely least) money you will spend on your swap, and it MORE than pays for itself in time and aggravation savings during the swap.

As far as I am aware, you will be the first to do a Z3 (essentially create an M Roadster from a standard one) so we may be chatting a lot to hash out some of the finer details. But, that comes with the purchase- support- so you are not left out to dry in the end...

Just a little update for everyone.

I have re-vamped the manual yet again! We are up to OVER 200 packed with info now!

As these cars get less expensive, more and more people are doing swaps. I have been slowly collecting information on all the related systems (brakes, difs, trannies, driveshafts etc.) all along, but I think it is coming to the point of really being a fully fleshed-out document for just about any swap.

OBD-II to OBD-II (of course)

OBD-I to OBD-II

and

OBD-II to OBD-I

Dare I say its done? Naah. There is ALWAYS something new to learn.

Price is holding steady and full wiring diagrams are still included of course.

Six years running on this manual... Seems like just yesterday...

Just want to say the manual is tits. I'm currently working on getting the M44 out and I'm not sure if I would've tackled this job without the manual as ref.
Bottom line: If you are going to do a swap - get the manual first.
