So I bought it but not sure if the motor is bad or just the head is warped. Dealership told him zero compression. Bavarian auto recycling (ebay and CA) sells a long block for $1000 with 2 year warranty. Is that a good deal? Good shop? reputable? I will search here for more answers. While the motor is out, should i put in headers and intake and chip? Any suggestions? Turner for all 3? Goal is fun daily driver. Maybe an autocross. Thanks!!! | | | 04-17-2010, 07:14 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Burlington, NJ Posts: 560 | is their long block rebuilt? I would check www.car-part.com for an engine, you might find one for less then $1000.00 local to you. My 318ti is all stock, and I've had it to an autocross... Lots of fun! Good luck Al. __________________ 1996 318ti - 2000 Z3 2.3 - 2012 MINI Cooper Hatchback | | | 04-17-2010, 07:40 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Minneapolis Posts: 1,587 | Nice looking car! Mine is a '97 and doesn't have the pump. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH!
