Default harman kordon vs premium package

How can I tell if I have the harman kordon set up or just standard 10 speaker set? Is it like the m3 that has HK on the housing. Thanks guys

I don't think any of the Ti's came with the harman/kardon package. You either got a basic stereo package or the 10 speaker package. If you have 2 speakers on your door panels, then you have the Alpine 10 speaker package.

BTW, it's harman kardon with an "A"

I honestly don't know off hand. I installed a blaupunkt deck and cd changer in mine and it worked fine. I've heard of other people having to bypass the factory amp. I guess it really depends if the aftermarket deck supports the factory amp. One thing i would suggest for sure though, buy a harness adapter/pigtail. They sell them on ebay for pretty cheap. I searched for one prior to installing my blaupunkt and when i couldn't find one I ended up cutting my factory harness and splicing wires. It works fine, but I wish I never did that. Shortly after I did, they started selling them on ebay.

The factory amp should be fine for any aftermarket head unit... Only if you are going to add a sub, would additional equipment be necessary...

Well I went a head and ordered the head unit and a harness.I'm crossing my fingers that everything will work out fine.I may put a volt meter to the old units output and see what I get out of it. The amp it in the trunk left side behind the carpet .right?

Yes, it's located directly under the antenna.

Good luck!
