M54b30/M52b28 cam swap

I know this is like 2 years old but I'm in the process collecting knowledge and I have the full intake from m54b30 swapping it to my 2.8 m52tub28.

few things, Would it be possible to do only the intake cam and not get too complicated w the exhaust? is there downside?
