Default Any ultra high performance summer tires for 15"?

Hi,

I'm interested in getting a set of high performance summer tires for my 15x7 SSR's.

I have bilstein sport / H&R sport suspension setup and a set of blizzaks on stock wheels for winter. I would be using these for street driving and a few autocrosses per year.

It seems 205/60/15 is my only option, and even then I'm limited to BFG G-Sports or Yoko ES100. I had ES100's on an e36 M3 a few years ago and wasn't too happy with them (terrible hydroplane resistance, LOUD, and high wear)...not sure if I should expect better on the TI.

Anyone know of other options? Seems Nitto, Toyo, Falken, etc don't make anything in our size. Would be willing to use 205, 215 or 225's in the right aspect ratio. Not interested in buying new wheels (I have M Parallels and don't like the weight & performance in autocross).

Thanks,
Chris

toyo´s mate.

they swear by them in the Uk for e30 use.
you can easily find a 205 50 15 in a toyo

an 60% profile tyre isnt exactly what you call performance anyway though

Yeah, but 205/50/15 is >1.5" shorter than stock. I want to stay close to factory diameter.

All things being equal, I'm certain I could get around an auto-x course quicker with 60 series tires on factory 15's than 45 series tires on factory 17's. (Engine is stock.)

Checked tire rack and there are no 215 55 15's. Toyo doesn't have them either.

Maybe 205 55 15. That opens up more options, including the Toyo T1R.

Anyone run that size on a slightly lowered car? Should I expect any issues? With the cross brace, I don't have a lot of ground clearance as it is.

Um, thank you.

Of those 142, I think it's fair to say anything with all-season, winter, Mud+Snow, UTQG > 400, price < $40/tire, or "ComforTread" might perform poorly at autocross. Which brings me back to about 5.

205/55/15 is the stock e30 m3 size, and I might have a set I can test fit. Seems too short, based on memory.

only trying to help u mate.

if its not good enough then look for your self

for the 142 tyres over 60 % of them are performance tyres over the 150 dollar mark , and all of them are warm weather

and stock e30 M3 used a 16" tyre...

5 hole not 4

I'll check the NTSB site...forgot, I can view all tires approved by DOT there.

In the US, all e30 M3's came with 15x7 wheels. Both e30 m3 and 318ti were 5 lug, although offsets are different (m3 needs 10-12mm spacer to fit e36 wheels).

Thanks for the suggestions,
Chris

e30 m3 had an offset of 27 for the 15 " and 30 for the 16 "

e30 wheel on the e36 miht have too low an ofset, so the wheel may poke out a bit. But the allow is only a 7" so it should fit flush

I wasn´t aware the E30 M3 was available on 15´s.
