Default Has anyone ever raced an eclipse?

If anyone has raced and eclipse(any model) tell me how bad you lost or won.

when i was in high school, an eclipse came up next to me and the teenage driver started revving his engine. i kind of laughed (reason later) and gave it a little gas.

the light was kind of long, and eventually we were both playing "we're harley davidson owners."

when the light turned green, i lurched forward -- then proceeded turning left as my indicator was blinking long before he pulled up next to me. i actually had him for the first 10 feet, and he sped up then slowed down when he realized i was gone.

i suggest you do this if you have the change. it's much more satisfying to watch people make an ass of themselves, not to mention safer for everybody.

I've run a modded 00 Eclipse GT (3.0L V6) here in tyler and we were dead even. According to our time slips we are just a few hundredths of a second apart on times.

My friend has an eclipse GS-T (99) and I can beat him. But he sucks at driving stick. And I know he doesn't push his car; I've driven it and its about 3x faster than mine.

I would never reccomend street racing.

I kid I knew pretty well in highschool has a mod'd cavalier. He was racing in town and hit a lady.

She's in intensive care right, and he she dies he gets vehicular manslaughter.

...just think of what you could do, and keep it on the track

Yeah street racing is pretty stupid, a good friend of mine was just killed from racing. Went to the funeral today. I recommend only race in parking lots....

Cool few races, fewer wins.

On my way home from school each day, me and my friend, who has some crappy 2002 saturn with like 92hp, we get out of class and go the same way where there are a ton of lights on this long straight away, and we just drag race people from light to light. I have raced MANY MANY CARS. I mean, this isnt like STREET RACING, its more like who can accelerate faster for 500 feet until the next light. I have beaten:

Mazda Miata
Mazda Protege Wagon
Toyota Camrys
Celicas
Toyota Corolla S
Auto Eclipses (some manual)
BMW 318i MANUAL (four consecutive times, Significantly)
Saturn LS1, LS2
Honda Civics
Mustang 6cyl
Dodge Neons
and more.

I have lost to:
Lamborghini Diablo (i was only being an ass, and i wanted to see that thing GO!)
Corvette Z06 (I tried to have my girlfriend distract him, and it worked, but he still passed my ass within seconds)
Mustang 5.0s, GT's
Celica GTS
Eclipse Manuals, some with work, some seemingly not.
Most all mercedes.
New Jeep Grand Cherokees
Toyota Spyder
Jetta 1.8T manual
Mazda Miata
RX8
300ZX (non turbo)

There were many other cars that I raced, and just didn't remember, or didn't care about. I mean everything from punk kids in Grandma's Grocery Getter, to Old man river in an RX-8. I tend to not race things I know i can't beat, like RX-8s, 350Zs, G35s, etc. Sometimes I just like to piss off other people... Jersey Driver, what can I say?

Yeah an older body style (early-mid 90's?) gst and he was quite a bit faster. We were about eqally skilled drivers.

I raced a 2 gen some modded eclipse GS. I blew its doors off.

My friend just got a GS-T spyder. I rode in it, and my car seemed as fast or faster. We haven't gotten a chance to race yet. We will be going to the stip sometime this summer. To be continued..............

I am an eclipse owner looking to buy a 318.... There really is not a comparison between even a lightly modded or stock GS-T or GSX. The hardest part for me is selling that money pit of mine to get somthing with more style and dependability. Eclipses are fast as hell but man are they ticking timebombs.

one of my friends own a 93 eclipse gs 1.8 liter 4 cyl he is tryign the get a intake, and i will be installing it for him, he has racing clutch and lightweight flywheel and that car is damn fast man, probaby faster than my 318ti.

couple of weeks ago i raced a honda civic, well i didnt floor it all the way anyway, i chaned gears at like 5k rpm and my foot wasnt even all the way down and i could hear the other kid rev all the way to limiter. the funny thing is that we were dead even, all the time this just shows how much these ricers suck..

your friends eclipse is the turbo right, cause the n/a eclipse is slow as hell. I take those of all kind, I even beat one of the new ones with the V6.
