Default Bad News!!!

Well boys break out the tissues cause this one hurt.

I had a tire blow out on the 5 Fwy this morning. I lost control of the car and smacked head on into a wall at about 45 MPH. I'm OK, but the car has seen better days.

I have the car a Spectrum Repair Center (One of four auth BMWNA repair facilities in the country) I hope they can fix it as I looked so long for that car.

I'll keep you all posted.

AWWW NO WAY!~!!
I just saw your car last week too!
I'm glad that your okay though, that's what's really important.
Hopefully your motor and DASC are okay too, I remember that you just put it in.

A car is always a big hunk of metal, no matter how nice it is. Glad to know you are fine! Sorry to hear such crappy news. Do you have photos of the damage?

Default Thanks for all the kind words ..

Did not take any photos went straight from the scene to the shop. It was not leak a lot of fluid I think the radiator is history though. Whole front end was damaged.

The engine and DASC seem to be ok as we drove the car around the parking lot.

Insurance said they will let me know on Tuesday, so now it is a waiting game.

I'm amazed that you hit a wall head on @ 45 MPH and you think the car is still repairable

I'd of thought it would crumple like a piece of paper. What does the front end look like?

Be happy you are OK, that sounded pretty serious to me.

Default Let's just say ...

What did the front look like you ask? Well you know how the TI = Trunk Impaired? Well my car is now a TI & HI (Hood Impaired). Bummer.

Whole front end smashed (Head Lights, Fog Lights, Bumper, Nose, Kidneys, Hood, passenger side fender, etc...) Oh yeah, and I think I'll need a new air bag (damn thing hit me in the face). I guess it is better then eating the steering wheel.

I'll get some pictures if I can.

How is that possible?! My car hit a tree going tops 30mph, no airbag deployed. But insurance totalled it and the repair shop said it was irrepairable because of frame damage. So I don't know how 45mph is fixable?
Glad you are ok tho...

If the repair work is equals more than the actual vehicle retail value the insurance agency will most likely total the car so that they can save money. Sorry to hear about the Ti Chad:/ Hopefully you'll replace it with another

Default I have not lost hope ...

I have not given up on my baby just yet!

I took me over four months to find her about a year ago when I was in the market. So I am not going to let her go down with out a fight.

Retail book on the car is $10,800.00 (1999 W/ 120K). I have all the recipts for the DASC and everything else so if they total her I am ready to go to battle.

I hope she will be OK in the end. But worst comes to worst if the insurance does not cough up enough $$$ I will go there with a buddy and some tools and take everything off. I don't want to think about that though, I am still convinced that she is going to be OK.

The guy at the shop said that it is a toss up. He said the car can easily be fixed to better then new conditions, it just depends on the insurance company at this point.
