The plastic piece under the wiper arm on the driver's side of my car is warped a bit and no longer seals against the windshield. I'd like to replace it (it isn't terribly expensive) but it seems I need a 'special tool' to remove the wiper arm from the splined shaft. Has anyone found a way to do this without having the special tool? | | | 05-30-2006, 03:39 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | IIRC, mine is just an 8 or 13mm bolt. Pop the black cap off with a screwdriver then turn the bolt. I don't remember doing anything special when I was adjusting the sweep. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 05-30-2006, 03:52 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Puerto Rico Posts: 885 | The bolt is 13mm, is under black plastic cap at the end of wiper arm, until you take off it push the wiper arm close to the hole in direction to the front glass and the arm go off easy, to install (i recomended that mark the wiper position with tape or some other thing nin the glass)put the wiper arm in the marks , when you thig the bolt the arm go to position without any problem. To take off the plastic cover under the wiper is necesary take off the two wipers arms. I paint mine, look super cool.I hope you understand my write because i'm spanish... __________________ BMW...MY NEW TOY Mods: Some plastic parts, ///M Wheels and me | | | 05-30-2006, 05:10 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Father; your english is fine.
