I put some saloon headlights in my ti earlier in the year and didnt need anything more than the headlights, the round plug connector for the headlights, a soldering iron and a couple of hours time. The wiring colours are even the same in a saloon and compact, so no need to get a multi meter out really.(always good to be safe and check though). Good luck with the swap. All the actual headlight housings remain the same (except for some international versions, 316i, etc). __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 12-11-2006, 06:07 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: ipswich Posts: 656 | well the headlights on compact are different tocoupe and saloon the insides are a bit larger on the compact and also the looms are totally different to get the angel eyes to sit in there like the pics the coupe lights are needed __________________ 318TI FOR SALE MESSAGE ME FOR MORE INFORMATION | | | 12-11-2006, 06:10 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: ipswich Posts: 656 | ordered these today so when they arive ill make the loom up so its plug and play __________________ 318TI FOR SALE MESSAGE ME FOR MORE INFORMATION | | | 12-11-2006, 10:41 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: lancashire, england Posts: 300 | hey ipswich, how much to do the conversion for me! lol. i really should get on with it i just cant be a**ed. will i need more than 2 x coupe headlights and a h1 hid kit? i've got my old lamps. i cant find a how to do on this site, do you know what category its in on the first page? | | | 12-12-2006, 03:14 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: ipswich Posts: 656 | no mate just 2 coup headlights messgage me if u wanna chat u need the 2 round plugs which connect to the lights in the coup with some decent amount of wire left on them also the connectors i posted up will plug onto the compacts wires so just then a case of making the loom a hid kit for them ill get u a price ben at chromeline does them and has a very good gaurentee with his stuff __________________ 318TI FOR SALE MESSAGE ME FOR MORE INFORMATION | | | 12-13-2006, 01:41 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: lancashire, england Posts: 300 | i've already got the h1 hid kit, so what i'm planning is to hook up the old hb3 bulb connector to the ballast pack (straight fit) then the side lamp bulbs (using the ti bulb stems and OE wiring). then all i'm stuck on is getting the full beams on. thanks for your help dude, i'll PM you if you dont mind, if i'm struggling. | | | 12-13-2006, 06:09 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Quote: Originally Posted by ipswich318ti well the headlights on compact are different tocoupe and saloon | The US market got all the same lenses.
