I went looking for these today and decided to stop by O'Riley's, I went in just looking to get the Chevy blazer ones but it ends up that they have some for the actual ti for only 18.99 a piece. I just went with those since they are actually for our car.

That's cool. I don't think we have that store here in southeastern Wisconsin.

I ordered the Stablius struts for the Blazer from RockAuto and installed them last weekend. The length seems pretty good on them, but they are too strong. It's pretty difficult to close the hatch with one hand. I'm hoping that they'll weaken a bit as they sit around compressed.

This summer, I had O'Reilly near me order the ones their computer said were for the 318. They came and were about 2/3 the length of stock. I returned them. Did they give me the wrong part? Have you gotten yours?

That happened to me at Advance Auto Parts. They ordered the part and when it came in he handed me this tiny thing. Must be for a 318i trunk or something like that.

My Blazer struts are almost 1 years old and are working great. No problems at all.

I just installed the Strong Arm Aerostar struts and they certainly work and save money. That said, there are a few things about them you should know.

1) Because of the extra length, the hatch sticks up very high... nothing that is going to wreck your vehicle, but higher than stock.
2) One hatch strut held my hatch up, but I installed both regardless.
3) To close the hatch, I grab the inside handle and pull the it down to chest level, then move my hand to the top of the hatch near the wiper, and push it closed.

I'm going to see if my girlfriend will be able to handle it... we swap cars often. If not, I'll try another alternative.

Maybe I'll make a quick video and put it on YouTube.

yeah. i did the same thing. most of us in SoCal Ti's bought these alternative struts to save money. they work good, just need a lil more force to bring them down to close. it doesnt over force the hatch open so thats the good part.

this thread was just brought back to my attention.. So far a year with the strong arm Aerostar struts.. no problems. I can say this though, it is a good thing my g/f is both tall and strong as they have not weakened any in the past 12 months

What is the exact part#? There seems to be more than one model for the Aerostar.
