We got a pretty good helping of snow and ice here in the last week, here in Oregon. And so i was taking my date home and as i was turning left into her neighborhood, i lost the back end and couldn't bring her back around before hittin the curb @ about 20mph. So i got to her place, and checked the damage.. And i curb damaged the heck outta the 2 rims, and i'm in need of an allignment now, and the steering wheel isn;t straight...I'm so pissed off right now. I'll post pictures in a little bit Is there anything else i need to double check so that i can make sure it's safe to drive for now? any help is, as always, appreciated. | | | 12-19-2006, 06:32 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Charlottesville, VA Posts: 234 | Well, you must have bent something if the steering wheel isn't straight. Check tie rods and also (this may be hard to tell) the rear trailing arm. If you can't take it to a shop that has a lift. Good luck! -Paul | | | 12-19-2006, 07:20 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Bend, OR Posts: 413 | I'll take it to a shop thats pretty good here in town. cuz i cant see much. I have a few sets of wheels if you're interested. 1 set of m3 doublespokes, 1 set of style 18's just like the ones you have with new dunlops mounted and a set of steels with snows mounted. http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13655 | | | 12-21-2006, 02:51 PM | #5 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Hey there, you should talk to Kraln, a curb just jumped in front of him as well. So now he has 3 wheels for sale. He'll probably break them up for you since there's only three. http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13590 | | | 12-21-2006, 06:12 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Berlin, Germany Posts: 258 | Yeah, I want to keep one of them as a spare, so it's really only two wheels. They have kumho asx tires on them with about 4000 miles (lots of tread left, very quiet on the road). I'll send them to you for shipping + $50? They're the 16" ( http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne...ostream&size=o ) and the ones I will send will not have a huge chunk missing, promise __________________ | | | 12-21-2006, 06:22 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Bend, OR Posts: 413 | mine are 15" so that wont work either... thanks though | | | 12-21-2006, 06:25 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Berlin, Germany Posts: 258 | Could always go staggered *rolleyes* __________________ | | | 12-21-2006, 07:15 PM | #9 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Oh well, I tried. lol | | | 12-21-2006, 09:11 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Plano Texas Posts: 206 | I have a set of four like that if you want them __________________ K&N Cone Filter with Heat Shield, Racing Dynamics Strut bar, Blisten yellow sport suspension, Clears all around, Angel eyes, Dinan Engine Chip, Infinity BassLink 10" Sub, Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel | | | 12-21-2006, 09:43 PM | #11 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Or you can buy my 17" M3 doublespokes for $400 | | | 12-21-2006, 09:56 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Northern Michigan Posts: 867 | Quote: Originally Posted by Kraln Yeah, I want to keep one of them as a spare, so it's really only two wheels.
