Default Intro and long term project

Hello, for a quick intro, my name is Mike, I'm just shy of 30, have a master in Mechanical Engineering and have a full blown car addiction.

I recently bought a 1995 318ti as I wanted something small, RWD, and that had a decent wheelbase and the 318ti does that with a hatchback to boot. I've been looking for one to make into a project car for a while and finally came across a good deal so I picked it up. I rationalized the purchase with the wife as a short term daily driver...but I have other plans for it not too long after that.

I want to eventually build this car into something formidable on a road course. I'm not looking to build for any kind of class or anything, I just like building and designing parts more then anything else and I have some ideas rolling around that could be fun. I'm debating between a turbo setup on the current motor, or something with a bit more displacement...

Anyway, I'll update this thread should I do anything notable to the 318ti. In the mean time, here is my other ongoing project car.

2003 EVO, 400 HP, 2700 pounds, street mod

Been busy already.

Interior is now Black and charcoal and my EVO Recaros are mounted up. Well it is most of the way there I should say. Still have to do the dash and head liner and find some E30 seat belt buckles for the front. I have to fix the door panels too as the previous owner apparently didn't own a TORX bit set and decided to break all kinds of plastic in the panels instead of buying a set. I'll add pics when it is all done on the interior.

This winter I hope to do the exterior, we will see how much free time I have though. I'd really like to do a duck bill trunk spoiler but I haven't found one I liked so I may have to make my own. That and an M3 front end and some paint should make it look nice.

I guess I should focus on registering it at this point though.
