Just recently I developed an interesting "problem". On left hand turns, and only on lefts, my overhead lamp comes on, and fades off as we move on. I checked the bulb in the lamp-all is tight there. I'm wondering if it's in the door switch? Any ideas are appreciated! | | | 08-19-2012, 01:48 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: Wichita, KS Posts: 111 | That light is controlled by sliding the cover on the makeup mirror in your sun visor. So maybe that cover is loose enough to shift in turns. Or maybe the wire to that cover is frayed and rubbing against ground as you corner. | | | 08-19-2012, 08:34 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | It's happened to me before in my previous Ti, however, I sold it before I sourced the problem. __________________ | | | 08-19-2012, 06:03 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Lighthouse Point, FL Posts: 124 | Nope... Nope...the visors didn't do it. They're tight. Time to look elsewhere. Or maybe I'll just use it as a cheap "G-meter"! | | | 08-19-2012, 06:50 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Broomfield,Colorado Posts: 664 | Ok so i am having the same problem, I have sourced it to be my passenger door catch switch. What had led me to it being the problem is cause i made it go away for a day by adjusted the location of it a little forward. But i feel it is a faulty switch. I havnt had the funds to replace it so i just turned the light off and lock the car manually. | | | 08-24-2012, 01:30 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Lighthouse Point, FL Posts: 124 | Left-turn-only overhead light problem fixed! The left turn-only overhead light problem is fixed. It turned out to be the worn-out plunger switch on the tailgate. It wouldn't totally drop when the 'gate was closed, causing the overhead light to flick on in left turns (body flexing?). Used a new #61-318-360-464 to fix it. | | | 08-25-2012, 01:26 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: Wichita, KS Posts: 111 | Sorry for the confusion. When I read overhead light, I pictured the makeup light over the sun visor. | | | 09-04-2012, 03:02 AM | #8 | Member Join Date: Oct 2011 Location: Louisville Ky Posts: 60 | LOL! my car did this today!!!
