I'm looking to see comments on MPG. Is anyone gaining or loosing Miles Per Gallon with either the Cosmo Short Ram Intake or Cold Air Intake? On Bimmer Forums I've heard conflicting things... just would like to hear some input first. At the moment I have a stock air box with a K&N filter, Bosch +4 and stock exhaust and I'm getting about 30/31 MPG on the highway driving 70 MPH and 26 in mixed driving. Needless to say I'm happy! I was planning on getting a Cosmo CAI or Short Ram Intake... trying to weigh out the hydrolock problem (I live in Maine and it rains/snows alot). I also plan on putting on this Bosal system I just ordered. I just don't want to loose my precious MPG since I travel so much. Thanks! | | | 03-29-2006, 06:10 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | I have no idea, but you should be fine. Unlike me I'm only gettting 23mpg at the moment and don't know why? | | | 03-29-2006, 06:58 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Bend, OR Posts: 413 | Quote: Originally Posted by NoahChamberlain I'm looking to see comments on MPG. Thanks! | i was getting about 27 before the Cosmo CAI, then it jumped to about 27.5-28, and now with the brosal on i'm getting about 28.5 driving it hard the last few days to see what the brosal can do, so i'm assuming about maybe 29-30 | | | 03-29-2006, 07:32 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Louisiana Posts: 1,093 | whats a brosal __________________ was the 1 an only Bagged Ti on 19's!! | | | 03-29-2006, 07:33 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Florida Posts: 1,595 | Quote: Originally Posted by dguzzardo22 whats a brosal | I think he ment Bosal, which is an exhaust system. | | | 03-29-2006, 08:22 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Bend, OR Posts: 413 | Quote: Originally Posted by dguzzardo22 whats a brosal | Nit-pickers...damn, you cant make one mistake on here without people rippin' you up. Plus it doesn't show up on a search if it's misspelled. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 03-29-2006, 02:37 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Montclair, VA Posts: 338 | i get like 29, 30.. but i drive very relaxed | | | 03-29-2006, 03:21 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: Bend, OR Posts: 413 | Quote: Originally Posted by aceyx I don't think he was nit-picking, but was just unfamiliar with the aftermarket. I made the vast majority of the way on one tank. I can actually make it to southern Metro Detroit on one tank if I drive very conservatively, which I never do. But anyway, that one trip I got 36-37 mpg. I was shocked. That was 75mph on cruise control for 8 hours with no WOT and two stops. | | | 03-31-2006, 02:27 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Montclair, VA Posts: 338 | Quote: Originally Posted by swollix I get 20 MAYBE probably lower, quarter of a tank gets me 60ish miles. | Quote: Originally Posted by 318TIredleather I get about 23 in the city | why so low you two? engine malfunction or serious upgrading? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
