Thumbs up WTG clex2! Nice spread in Bimmer Magazine!

So, I get my Bimmer mag in the mail yesterday, which is one of my favorite monthly rags next to Roundel, and lo-and-behold.. there's a red 330ti on the cover, followed by a 5 page article complete with a 2 page, full width, pic of the car.

I immediately thought.. hey, I know that car. I know that 'S50PWRD' licence plate too! I came here, and found that is was fellow member clex2's whip!

They really go into detail of what Rogue and Turner collaborated on to get it mechanically running including al the internal powerplant mods. What was really cool though, was how they portrayed clex2 as the electrical genius who has done a littany of cool things like a Z8 start button, rewiring to use I-bus and the HK Traffic Pro, rear fogs, tapping into the warning chime for low oil pressure warning, adding a trickle charger for a stock BMW flashlight (unheard of!), managing to replace interior incandescents with color matched leds, integrated color-matched shift light, etc...

I was pretty amazed by the article and the car. It seems the Bimmer folk were too. The last paragraph states:

"The combination of a Turner Motorsport/Rogue Engineering one-off makeover and Lee's clever mods make this truly one of the most fun cars we have driven in a long time. Given the array of well-sorted M cars and revamped 3 series we've experienced lately, that's saying a lot."

Hats off to you! I own an M powered 'ti, and I was pretty jealous reading about clex2's ride!

August 2007 issue. I took some pics. Let me post 'em. Might not be easy to read, but you'll see the article anyway.

I wish I could attach slightly larger (like 1280x) pictures. It is perfectly readable at that res. Oh well. Disc space/bandwidth costs...

Awesome. I'll have to run down to Borders and see if they have it.

It's awesome that our cars are still making it into tuner rags.

Hey guys, I scanned the article for those who don't subscribe to the mag. This was actually done way back in February. I wrote to the mag and next thing I know one of their writers is contacting me. Took a whole afternoon just for the photoshoot, then a few phone calls and emails to get all the facts right. It's pretty cool to see your own car in a magazine. This time it was really my car, as this particular 330ti has been in a number (3-4) of other publications under Ben's ownership. If anything, this is more P&R for Rogue Engineering. Enjoy!

PS: Steven, can you take these scans and place then in to the Articles section. I've been having issues uploading pics to the site. Thanks

Thumbs up

Great job on the mag article clex2! Wow the ti is getting lots of exposure. Now I know why our bimmers are in high demand.

A side note there is a green ti in the back of Eurotuner's member rides section.

Maybe Larry can get his into the BMWCCA or Boston Bimmer mag.

funny thing: the Alpina was in Bimmer a year ago for the last sharkfest feature in Alabama. Small world for a Niche Magazine.

We need a 318ti or swapped ti featured in the mag in the future! Now that would be cool like clex2.

Congrats clex2 or should I say Dr. Lee ...

A client mentioned the article about your ti this past Friday, so I picked one up at the nearest news stand. Great article! I didn't realize you loved carbon fiber as much as I do.

Also, a big thanks for the mention!

Cheers,
