Default HELP Driver's Seat has fallen and can't get up!!

The driver's seat in my 96 ti will not come up from a fully reclined position. The seat is mechanical. My son was driving it and said he heard a pop. Now the seat back is literally laying in the back seat. I can't see anything obviously wrong and the recline lever feels normal. Thanks to anyone that can help.

If you lift the recline handle. Can you lift the reclined seat back? Release the handle and perhaps the seat back will stay in that position. Don't pull on the handle once you get it in the position you want. (Temporary till fixed.)

the frame on mine broke right at the hinge allowing it to tilt back a couple inches, if the seat moves without pulling the lever,, it may need repaired, the cover comed off easy and any welder should be able to fix the cracking area..
