I thought I'd start a thread where we can discuss suppliers, breakers, auctions or just share views and experiences of our own cars, you know what they say about a problem shared. | | | 05-27-2011, 04:24 PM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2011 Location: Wakefield Posts: 24 | Right, after a week of trying to find various parts for Brenda: www.eurocarparts.com 85 branches around the uK and great value, they have all service parts for 318s as well as lights, body panels, seals, exhaust parts etc http://www.quarrymotors.co.uk/ These guys are one of the major BMW breakers in Yorkshire, but offer a brilliant mail order service and will post literally anything to you. I know, I've seen them getting things ready to post. A tip though, they buy their new parts from eurocarparts!! so make them your first stop. | | | 05-29-2011, 10:54 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: west sussex uk Posts: 28 | bmw dealers are not too dear cars 10yrs or older get 40% off parts and labour mstyle for styling parts are pretty good too __________________ | | | 05-31-2011, 11:39 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Jan 2011 Location: manchester Posts: 50 | Quote: Originally Posted by neilgwhite Right, after a week of trying to find various parts for Brenda: www.eurocarparts.com 85 branches around the uK and great value, they have all service parts for 318s as well as lights, body panels, seals, exhaust parts etc http://www.quarrymotors.co.uk/ These guys are one of the major BMW breakers in Yorkshire, but offer a brilliant mail order service and will post literally anything to you. Is this bad?! I am a noob at cars lol. I only paid £730 for it, but is it going to cost a lot to fix for next years MOT? Thanks! | | | 06-02-2011, 12:43 AM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2011 Location: Wakefield Posts: 24 | Hi there Jaybest25 and welcome aboard: Well done for choosing a Ti, I haven't looked back yet. I am not the best to advise, but here goes, and hopefully someone will jump in with more advice. Pick up a copy of Total BMW from Sainsburys, there are loads of great articles and E36 is covered this month with it celebrating 20yrs!!!!. In the back, you'll find spares dealers and breakers, I am sure i read that there is a fantastic setup in Manchester for Beemers. As far as your MOT advisories, although jut that, I'd get the brakes done as soon as possible, new hoses and pipes where necessary, when your foot is on the throttle, you need to know your brakes are there when you need them. While they're doing your pipes, seems daft not to change the pads all round for £60. Suspension mounts, not sure, maybe one of the guys on here can tell you what they have done. Exhaust, I'd leave it til next year and let the winter do its worse for another year and replace the part you need pre-mot. Anyway, have fun and welcome aboard, have you posted pics yet? | | | 06-02-2011, 11:14 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jan 2011 Location: manchester Posts: 50 | Hi im going to keep this short the suspension mounts on the rear sound like the plate that bolts from the rear axil bush to the body you can see two bolts at the bottom of the quarter, the flexy pipes are nothing to worry about . if thats all i would be happy . I will sort a trade price for you on the pipes, and the brackets i have some vnice second hand ones in my tool box, exhaust i have a brand new rear section from my race car, if you need any off the bits or some advice ring me on 0161 231 3345. ps i told you i would keep it short | | | 06-05-2011, 11:13 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: England Posts: 13 | Haha Thanks lads, I am now content that this is a good buy!
