I know that a different cable is used on the DASC to re locate the throttle which got me thinking if i could find a cable that is more available that would work for this car. anybody have any ideas on what other cables would work without much of an issue with clearances and excess cable length? | | | 03-30-2022, 07:08 PM | #2 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | You need something longer- the six cylinder one is shorter (if memory serves), so don't go for one of those. Did you try M42 and M44? If they're not the same part number, I think either would work. | | | 03-31-2022, 02:21 AM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2011 Location: New Mexico Posts: 13 | i did check between m42 and m44. they are the same part number. I checked for the M44 powered Z3 and that cable is available, but looking at pictures of it (35411162972) it doesnt have the metal support ends that the TI cable has (35411162482). i want to see if one of those may work, but worry that they wont have the support and may kink. | | | 04-01-2022, 03:30 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2021 Location: Arkansas Posts: 8 | e36 318i sedan/convertible should both work. I looked outside at my m44 in the vert and compared to the compact. I see zero differences. I had to replace the vert one about 6 months ago with a used one from a sedan. So I can confirm they should all work. | | | 04-01-2022, 06:06 AM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2011 Location: New Mexico Posts: 13 | i agree, one of those would fit as well as they are all the same part number. but there are none that i can find used on ebay and looking at a brand new one, they are on back-order from BMW | | | 04-06-2022, 01:12 AM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2022 Location: south korea Posts: 3 | The throttle cable for the m44 m42 is the same but took 4 months to backorder from ecs tuning. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
