Default Hard to start when its warm outside

Hello all, This is my first post so please bare with me. I have a 1995 318t. This issue I am having just started about a month ago when the weather started getting warmer, last year i had no starting problems at all, but now I am. I live only 10 mins from work, I go out in the morning crank the car and she purrs like a kitten. I drive to work, some days she wants to get there faster so i drive her like she wants other days i just cruise to work, because the speed limit is only 45 all the way to the office. My problem really starts when i get into the car which has been sitting a little over 8 hrs, the weather is warm, above 75 plus. I put the key in and try to start her up, she spits and dies. I have to put my foot on the pedal and apply some gas while cranking she spits a little but then runs fine. Now I have noticed 2 different things, When the fuel gauge is at a half or below i seem to have this problem. when the tank is fuel i notice it not so much and she cranks right up. Then she normally starts up after the first hard start after turning off. I have just this past weekend replaced the fuel filter and plugs, noticing on the number 2 plug was a quite a bit of oil, this is the gaskets in the valve cover which the replacement gaskets are on order. She has close to 160,000 miles on her, this besides the clutch going out earlier this year, is about the only problems i have had, She is stock, except for the bmw rims i got for my birthday and a paint job. I have search the past few days around the interwebs and i havent really found anything on my issue. If anyone could give me some hints of what it could be i would be grateful. If i replace the gaskets and this problem goes away then i know it was the oil leaking, but if not i have no idea. I have a thought it could be vapor lock because of the low fuel level. but i am not sure if that is the actual problem. Thanks
