Anyone know what skirts these are? Stock, aftermkt etc.. Looking to add a carbon splitter extension to these but the skirts have to be Factory M products to fit. Mine seem to be two piece and most I have seen are one? Thanks for any info! I think this is what you have. If you look closely, you'll find the "skirt" is actually just a part of the exterior sheet metal. | | | 11-19-2015, 03:43 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Sep 2015 Location: Scottsdale Posts: 47 | Mine is 96 model but I will look closer at the sheet metal. So do the M skirts cover the current sides on the car then? And I'm pretty sure you have the old style. This is what the skirts on the M3 look like: | | | 11-19-2015, 04:03 PM | #5 | Member Join Date: Sep 2015 Location: Scottsdale Posts: 47 | So if I source a set of M skirts from e36 coupe I should be able to install over my factory lower sheet metal? Are all M factory skirts same length? Thanks again! I have a '95, and I just installed non-M skirts on it. The OEM skirts are mounted using plastic clips that snap into holes drilled in the sheet metal. Recreating this on a car that doesn't have the holes is kind of tricky - what I wound up doing is putting some plastic shims between the skirt and the body, and fastening everything with Windo-weld. It'll mean a lot of hassle if I ever have to replace a fender, but I can live with that. (The shims were necessary because I didn't have the plastic clips.) | | | 11-19-2015, 05:37 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Sep 2015 Location: Scottsdale Posts: 47 | Word. I will look into this more today.
