Default Damn thing won't idle.

Got 3 misfire on cylinders 1,2 and 3, so I told my daughter to remove/check the spark plugs. The spark plugs were submerged in oil so I told her to wait and I will order the valve cover gaskets. Gaskets came in. My son helped her changed the valve cover gaskets and spark plugs and wires. Now it won't hold idle. He said he just pulled the valve cover and changed the gaskets. The crankcase vent hose is good and in place. I told him to check the other hoses under the intake that lead to the injectors.
Any other items ha may have disturbed to cause the idle issue?
How about the crank case vent valve? It has 130k miles on the engine.
Thanks.

Make sure the rear of the gasket is set good. I effed my fist gasket by bolting down the valve cover when it was folded in. It idled like ****! It was horrible. Next day. Got a new gasket. Did it in an hour pretty much and made sure the rear was good. Bolted down. Started it. Ran perfectly!

Thanks guys. I will tell my son to check the gasket in the rear. The car is 3 hours away. If they cannot get it running properly, I will check it out this weekend.
I wonder how the engine will idle with the oil filler cap removed? I figure, it will behave the same way isn't it? It will not idle properly?

On my 911, if I take the oil filler cap off, the idle gets funky and drops really low up to a point it's about to quit. The breather lines from the oiling system on the 911 are tied to the intake vacuum lines so it affects the idle just like having a huge vacuum leak.
Is this the same behavior on the 318TI? I have not taken off the oil filler cap while the engine is running so I really don't know if the idle drops

The intake boot checked out good. It was pulled out and flexed to check for cracks. It was good.

We have a winner. slow_ti and Ralliart10, thanks for the tip. It was a leak from the gasket not fully seated in the rear of the valve cover.

Wanna fix mine too?
It idles anywhere from 5-600 to 1200 or so and idles at 900 on sunny days! Has a total mis-fire when it coasts after a downshift but picks up a load well.
No 2 plug well is wet as well but it's going to wait until I get enough parts together for other engine work; cooling system, etc, etc
I have a COP kit coming; maybe that'll fix the misfire
For now I just pet it before I get in

Gee thanks! lol
It almost has to be ignition from the way it behaves although I can't see why it would pull good from 1500 RPM; I think it still has the original wiress on it.
I'll keep an eye open for vacum possibilities when I do the cooling system this weekend though
