Question live in/around southern california?

as some of you may know, i am currently in the market for a [reasonably priced] 318ti to buy. and, as my profile says, i am located in lafayette, louisiana right now.

the reason i asked the question in the title is because i've found a club sport online, and, unfortunately, it is located about 1700 miles away from me. and hence i find myself - a poor college student devoted to his school-work (sugar-coated enough for you?) - unable to make such a road trip at this point in time to check it out.

the club sport is located in del mar, california.

if anyone knows the person selling this car, or if anyone would ever be bored enough (and trustworthy enough) to check out this car's condition, i would appreciate any such assistance.

in the meantime, i will try to email and/or call the seller when i actually have a moment to breathe between computer science projects - whenever that may be.

oh yeah. i also know a bimmer tech that is moving today from here to work in the los angeles area. so if you feel obligated to make such a trip out of your way, don't. i could always call and hastle him and not feel guilty about it...i hope.

I think the price is way too high for that car with the amount of miles that are on it. I personally wouldn't buy it,but thats me. You can spend your money any way you want but i'd continue shopping around for a better deal. I know you said that your in school and you don't have the money to spend, but for 7500 dollars you can find a better deal with a less amount of miles. Hope you find one within your budget.

Yeah, I got my 96 with 98k miles on it for $6200 walk out. But they were originally asking $7500 too.

yeah. just notice what he has on there. "o.b.o." i'll see what he'll take for it. but the mileage i'm not incredibly worried about as far as the motor's concerned. i'll be graduating in three semesters. and as far as which field i am in (computer science), hopefully i'll be able to afford an european one in a couple of years. haha. i can hope, can't i?

but yeah. an old friend of my best friend has a '95 m3. it's an automatic though. but that's fixable. but he got a brand new audi s4 (automatic tranny). that's to replace his brand new nissan 350z convertable (automatic tranny), which he got to replace the m3. that's what happens when you still live with your parents after going through college and the army. i hate people with too much money. haha. or at least until one gives me some. or until i become one myself.

but anyway. the reason i started talking about the m is because he's trying to sell it. but the highest people have offered him for it is 8 as of yet. so if that guy doesn't go lower than 7500, i would go for the m first. but yeah. we shall see.

Just a word of advice- dont buy it. Be patient and what for a better deal since the car market is bad and will probably get worse . Hince better deals will pop up. Bring me a worth while 318ti I may look at it for you in so cal. But a 135k mile car for $7500 ???? come on/.
mileage isnt everything but shoot for a car atleast under 100k miles.

look on \\
autotrader.com
cars.com
recycler.com
motors.ebay.com
bimmerforums.com/classifieds
roadfly.com/classifieds

318ti .org isnt the best place to look for a 318ti since its a enthuisiast site , and can generally ask more than usual.

Good luck feel free to email me with any deals and I will email you too if I see any good deals if you want?

I agree, find one with less than 100k miles. That price is a bit steep for 135k miles. Also, enthusiasts will probably ask more if they are selling their car. But I havent met a ti owner who wasn't an enthusiast (yet at least). And an enthusiast will also be willing to pay more for the RIGHT car. So, look around, take your time, you can find ti's cheap and expensive depending on what they are.

Default I found one!

I bought my 1998 318ti 2 months ago. The original and only owner was a female in her 40's. She bought the car off the lot, and wasn't a 318ti enthusiast at all. The car had on 31.5K miles on it. I paid $10,500 for the car and it was almost perfect. See pics.

on the east coast is different then where im from . Most people here, own a 318ti because it was the cheapiest model offered by bmw. And mostly all the owners are girls. Right now I looking into a 95 clubsport with all new m3 trimmings, e46 m3 wheels and all other little goodies possible. It has 39k miles and the guys asking around $8k, and sunroof ,leather blah blah. Thats pretty much kinda high price for here but its a really nice almost perfect car.

Thinking about selling my '95 CS 103k miles..... hard to part with though... I'm in the DFW area.

You can email me if you're interested....

It won't be 7500.00.
