Mainly, the drivers door panel has a cracked upper handle mount, so every time you pull on the door handle to shut it, the panel and clips pop off. I also need the little white plastic piece that the door handle screws into...the plastic "threaded hole" that pops/clips into the sheet metal of the door to anchor the upper handle mount. More details: When you remove the door panel, there are two screws through the handle that should anchor the handle to the door sheet metal. The upper screw, behind the side view mirror switch, goes through the panel, and screws into a white plastic "threaded hole" which then clips into a punched hole in the sheet metal of the actual door. My panel is cracked in the handle where the head of the screw should grab, so the head of the screw doesn't secure the handle, and the white 'threaded hole' is broken, so the screw has nothing to thread into. I'd like to keep the dove grey color...the drivers side is the side that really needs it, but if you have both, I amy be interested in the passenger as well. Located in 27513, no problem paying for shipping if need be. Handle mounts must be intact and functional. email: rfclark112@gmail.com __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 02-22-2013, 12:16 AM | #2 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: north carolina Posts: 7 | Hello robcarync - Did you figure-out your issue regarding the door panel, yet? If not, I may have some advice, seeing as how I have worked on my ti's door and window many times, and am currently in the process of prepping my passenger-side panel for reattachment again. best regards, Patrick | | | 02-22-2013, 01:00 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Like this one? Magic Mender has a product to renew the vinyl portion of the panel (or dash for that matter) I restored one panel that was very faded to looking new. Mikhail in AZ has a pair. Have him send it via Greyhound to keep the shipping cost low. (520) 220-0278. I am actually prepping the underside of the door panel, before putting it back on, the fabric side of mine looks pretty good. I JBQuickWelded all of the clip holders and clear silicone caulked the fabric (leather, vinyl, whatever) edges. Some of those edges were starting to peel back so I used 2" wood clamps where needed - to help seal them back down. Rob: I did speak with Mikhail today, he still has both front door panels. Patrick: Yes, I have done a similar repair job on the panels for my 95 ti. On the top edge, the metal clips were loose and would no longer grip the door panel. I JBwelded nylon strips to the fiberboard door panel, so the upper metal door clips would have a good surface to clamp on to as the vinyl was cracked or missing. It worked great! The nylon strips were simply lengths of Nylon zip ties. (sorry for the poor phone photos...) It looks like we are both missing the same door clip. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org!
