Default Hello newbie from Puerto Rico

Hi guys im new here, currently looking at a 318ti. Im new to the BMW scene. All ive have were pathfinders and motorcycles. The 318ti caught my eye, dont know how many miles are currently on it due to the fact that the speedo and fuel gauges dont work. It has a studdering on idle. And the owner told me that he just installed the clutch like 2 months ago, but it sort of grinds 2nd gear if you put it hard. Interiors need the door pullers and where the speakers go on the door and the passenger A pillar plastic and the cover that covers the sunroof motor, I suppose the switch aswell as I didnt see it. Other than all of that the car runs great. Hope to hear from all of you soon with any pros cons and help to get those parts that I need . Thanks

Are there many BMW's on the island? I would not buy it until you find a good indie mechanic who works on BMW's. You might have a mechanic take a look at the car before you make a decision. I don't want to discourage you, but buying poorly maintained BMW's is not usually a good idea. Good luck, and post some pics if you get the car. John

Hi, there are some mechanics near by on the island, lots of BMWs aswell. I've seen some BMW specific mechanics around too. Car seems ok just needs some TLC previous owner didnt know about Cars he just hacked a bunch of stuff to put after market stuff on it. I'm just looking to put it back to its original state. Looking around to see if I could buy another one but AUT for the Mrs. , as she saw this one and liked it. I need the inside door panels, as those were chopped up by PO. And by the looks of it a tune up. Overall im ok with it. Cant seem to find other 318Ti's with the same design in the back. Pics attached....q and thanks for the response.

Are you sure the switch isn't tucked up inside there somewhere? I would find the socket that the switch plugs into before buying a switch. :-D
