Talking Pictures of My Ti

It's been a while since I've posted here. I've been really busy with school and life in general.

Anyways, I've had my 318ti for almost 4 years and now I feel like I'm finally done with it...at least for the time being.

It's a 1996 with the sport trim package, and 100 thousand miles on it. It looked like **** and wasn't treated very well when I first got it. But after tons of work and a brand new paint job, it feels like a brand new car!

I've got a pretty long list of mods, but I'll just try to recall the stuff that you can't see in the pictures:
-Bilstein Sports
-H&R Sport Springs
-Meyle All-Metal Ball joints
-IE urethane subframe bushings
-IE urethane contral arm bushings
-Painted subframe and control arms with por-15
-Painted new stock exhaust with high-heat por-15

Thanks for checking it out! Of course all questions and comments, good or bad, are more than welcome.

I bought my black '97 sport from a guy in Ann Arbor. Your Ti looks good, but it's far from finished if you ask me. I'd ditch the chrome ebay kidney grilles, lower mesh grille and fake M badge. Not feeling the wheels, but they're okay, steering wheel is pretty nasty and interior could use a detail. Have you considered euro tails and an exhaust? Besides that, the car looks nice. Paint job looks great!

Ouch!

I like the chrome kidneys and the M badge. I don't really feel like I'm misrepresenting my car or anything. After all, it came off the line with an M on the door trim pieces since it's a sport package. It is a bit gaudy though, I guess.

I would love to get some Euro taillights but I just don't have a few hundred to blow right now.

Also, I recently ordered a brand new OEM exhaust when the old one broke. I even painted it with high-temp rust proof paint so it will hopefully last a couple-hundred thousand miles. I didn't really want an aftermarket exhaust because I can't stand loud exhausts. I'm not sure if it's true, but I've read that some aftermarket exhausts lead to a decrease in power and fuel economy because the bigger piping doesn't allow for enough back-pressure.

I've seen a couple other TI's here in Ann Arbor, but I would be surprised if anyone of the owners posted here. Did you fly here and drive the car back or did you have it shipped?

Thanks, I really like them too. They are actually 17's. I'm not sure what model they are but I bought them off of craigslist with tires that have only been used for a season for 200 bucks!

The guy said his friend had a lease BMW and too much money for his own good. He turned the car in and they had been sitting in his garage for a while and when he mentioned them, his friend said that he could take them and sell them. Quite a steal in my book.

My bad dude, I didn't mean to tear your car apart. It looks great and everyone has their own taste. The wheels are nice, better than stock. The chrome grilles and badge, meh not my style but it is your car. Heck, I switched to the pre-facelift nose panel and grilles, which most people do the exact opposite. Not saying your car doesn't deserve to wear an M badge, I'm just sayin that it looks out of place and everyone knows it came free with the grilles. I have M3 seats, door sills, brakes, dash, engine and a ton of other crap, but it doesn't scream ebay. As I said before, your paint job looks wonderful. Oh yeah, I flew into Detroit where the seller picked me up and took me to the car at his house in Ann Arbor, from there I drove it home.

They are Audiobahn 5 1/2 inch speakers, I believe. They came with a really nice speaker cover and little tweeters that are nearly exactly the same size as the old ones. I was able to fit both of them in nicely and the sound improvement is well worth it.
