At least my car didn't look like yours afterward ;-) I use my head (literally) to hold up the hatch when changing struts (one side at a time). Milt in Seattle P.S. I now have 2 sets of used struts in my garage in case you'd like some. | | | 02-07-2009, 11:14 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Raleigh/Charlotte, NC Posts: 1,233 | friends don't let friends change hatch struts alone? __________________ -Jeff | | | 02-07-2009, 11:14 PM | #7 | Z3 Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Usa Posts: 660 | Is that Mr. Horst? ________ vaporizer affiliates Last edited by Bozola; 01-31-2011 at 03:15 PM. | | | 02-07-2009, 11:20 PM | #8 | Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Seattle, WA Posts: 33 | Quote: Originally Posted by Bozola Is that Mr. Horst? | Yessir. | | | 02-08-2009, 12:59 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | dude, that sucks, good luck replacing it | | | 02-08-2009, 06:44 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Memphis, Tn Posts: 1,299 | Yeah man that hatch is heavy and the hood is kinda heavy also. Anytime you are changing any strut or shock please have a friend or use something. Good luck with getting a new window and hopefully it did not damage the hatch locking mechanism. __________________ custom dual exhaust,M3 front and rear bumper, 10.4 inch roof mount drop screen, Viper alarm system, DSII's rims, M3 Vader Seats, M3 Mirrors, Carbon Fiber CAI, Smoked Corners, Side Markers, Leatherz armrests, black grilles 225k miles and still the Ti goes on | | | 02-08-2009, 10:18 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | Ouch that sucks. It's probably gonna cost $100-$200 to get it fixed. I remember when one of my neighbors were playing baseball with rocks, and 1 of them ended up destroying my rear window on my sentra. Luckily they paid for it to get fixed. The repair man came to my house with the heated window, vacuumed my car, and placed it on. Took 3 hours, and only cost $130. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. I had a front shock go out while I was checking the oil. I bet someone got a good laugh at the gas station when it happened to me.... Hopefully you'll laugh about this once everything is done! __________________ | | | 02-09-2009, 09:18 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: central ct Posts: 503 | Quote: Originally Posted by greenie P.S. If you don't have a spoiler they are probably fine. The 380N set was on my car less than 1 year, before the spoiler went on, so they've been on the shelf for 12 years. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
