I'm trying to figure if I am. I used to be able to drink a gallon of 2% in a day, loved the stuff and was fine. Now if I even take a sip, it gets me, and just the taste of milk even fresh, fresh never opened milk has a bad aftertaste to me. BUT this is the kicker. I can eat all the cheese(although I eat aged cheeses more than raw or fresh) and as it ages the lactose decrease... also can eat a tub like the big tubs of yogurt(Vanilla, all natural..no HFCS(hi-fructose corn syrup)) and have no problems..but then I think the amount of lactose in Yogurt is small do to the Cultures in it. Also no problems with Ice Cream, Fat, Lo Fat or no fat kinds and no issues with Frozen Yogurt. all i know is cow's milk in liquid from will have uncomfortable for like 12hrs before it passes. This is rather new only occuring in the last year or so...I have tried any aides or anything. Tried SoyMilk..Chocolate..and it was worse than the bad taste I get from milk. Powdered Milk also has no effect on me, as with Dry Cocoa mixes. I should just as my doctor, but I don't want to sound like a Putz. | | | 03-21-2007, 02:17 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 1,224 | Try a sip of 1% or nonfat milk. I used to be able to drink a few cups - maybe 1/2 quart of whole milk at once. . .Then my parents started buying 2% and after a few months of that, my body started refusing to ingest whole milk. Now, all I can stomach is 2% or 1%. I've never been able to drink down a tall glass of milk - only the small tiny cartons that we got in elementary/middle school. | | | 03-21-2007, 05:55 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | Last thing I tried was a small TG Lee Chocolate Chug I got coming home from the track one weds night..wanted to get a sugar buzz with out a Soda or Energy drink. Never felt sicker when I got home. I miss having a Chocolate milk at night. lol Tried Cocoa made with water, it works...but not the same. I think it's funny in College I would buy like 2 gal of 2% at a time when I went to store..now I have not purchased a gal in like 2 years. | | | 03-21-2007, 08:19 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 1,224 | your comment about chocolate milk just reminded me of something weird about all this - all my comments above apply to white milk. In college, apparently, I could drink any amount of chocolate milk without problems. | | | 03-21-2007, 08:44 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Melbourne, Fl/Athens, AL Posts: 393 | zboot, I hear you on the 2% thing. My family used to always drink 2%, then we switched to skim years ago and now I can only stomach skim or 1%. __________________ -Kenny | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
