It wont pass emissions cause of the check engine light. I guess I should replace the valve??? It's my first bmw..98 318ti. I love the car but it seems slow. It doesn't make any strange noises from the disa and seems to idle fine and accelerate smoothly..but there is not as much power as I feel there should be. The ford focus is faster....DANG.... any help would be greatly appreciated. | | | 10-18-2009, 11:39 PM | #8 | Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: boston Posts: 55 | yeah...your situation sounds kinda like mine also my first bmw/car also a 98, its an automatic though, i went to get my car inspected and failed...turned out i had 5 codes... and my cel bulb was missing so who knows how long it had been there for since i got it two years ago after replacing the valve i have to say i didn't really feel much of a difference its not cheap either...but i did pass emissions after getting rid of all the codes theres also a disa simulator that lpcapital made but i don't know much about it or if you should use it in this scenario... | | | 10-19-2009, 02:10 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: Georgia Posts: 5 | $$$$ Guess it's time to spend some money... | | | 10-21-2011, 03:28 AM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Guam Posts: 18 | i just got my car smogged and i have the error code now. | Absolutely! | | | 10-21-2011, 07:34 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | If you have an unplugged wire near your intake and there is seemingly no wire leading to the DISA, this is likely your problem. If it is unplugged, it would definitely trigger the error code. Was it giving the error code before you took it in to get smogged? | | | 10-21-2011, 09:41 PM | #15 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Guam Posts: 18 | not sure i had the light on already for a cam sensor which i had replaced to do smog but now have this error code | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | OBD CODE HELP | DaNO | Maintenance | 2 | 04-02-2007 03:44 AM | C9 Code? | BMWFamily | Maintenance | 2 | 10-02-2006 12:40 PM | OBDII code: p1511 ? | Winslow | Maintenance | 0 | 08-09-2006 11:49 PM | Code 40 | nvillanu | Maintenance | 6 | 01-10-2006 11:20 AM | PPP code? | 5litrarag | Electrical | 3 | 11-01-2005 04:45 PM | |
