Can you please take pictures of the current headliner? I'd like to see the condition that it's in since you say it needs to be replaced. Also, what year is the new engine that you put into the car?

Thank you,

Patrick

Yes I can tomorrow morning. The previous owner cut off the old headliner at about the point where the sunroof is. I would recommend replacing the entire thing. Ive gotten quotes anywhere from $150-300 ... but didnt do it because headliner didnt bother me as much as getting everything mechanically in order.

The "new" engine is from the same year, a 95 M42.

Do you know why the previous owner cut off the headliner? That seems very odd to me.

Do you know if and when the clutch was ever replaced? How does the clutch feel right now? Does it feel like it might need to be replaced soon?

Do you have floor mats for it?

Also, do you know if that is the original steering wheel? I don't know much about the 318ti, but if I'm not mistaken that steering wheel did not come out on the other E36 models until around 1998 or so.

They probably cut it because it was sagging. im not exactly sure why. Perhaps they didnt want to staple or glue it for a quick fix and wanted to just start from scratch, which is what I planned on eventually doing also.

The clutch feels great. Ive driven only manuals all my life and it still feels good to me.Im not saying it will definetly last you another 100k,because I dont know the history of the clutch , but right now it feels pretty good. I have all receipts from previous owners in the owners manual as well.

I dont know if the steering wheel was ever changed out.

I do not have the floor mats , ive been searching for some good OEM mats, but they seem to be kinda hard to come by for a decent price. Id get some aftermarket walmart mats for the car no problem though if someone wanted.

new tires ordered
new trans and differential fluid

going to get new rear hatch struts.
will try and solve the ABS light issue, probably just a sensor.
headliner will be left up to the new owner.. it doesnt bother me.

I put this car up prematurely....car currently not for sale until I have the new tires/hatchstruts/abs light solved.

a few other things:
catalytic converter sound was a loose bolt on the heat shield thingy.
carfax says 1 owner, I dont know why.It clearly shows when a new title was issued in the carfax's.. I was told im the 4th.
as far as I know its never been in an accident.shows no signs in the way it looks and drives.
heat and a/c work great. no problems. all windows work fine.
forgot to mention the cigarette lighter outlet works good, but if you put your gps or something in there and decide to take it out, the outlet pulls out a little but still works fine. I think it needs just a new clear plastic peice. If I knew the part number id replace that too.I dont smoke, so I just leave my gps plugged in anyways.

Clean title. in hand, no leins , cars all mine.

many more pics to come within a week or 2!
