I notice the gear shifter make a weird vibration sound at highway speeds, so what sort of mounts are associated with the linkage? I'm going to look at OEM.com for some replacable items. | | | 05-31-2011, 10:04 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Georgia Posts: 595 | How many miles on the car? 1. Could be a DMF failing or separating? 2. Clutch disc with broken friction material or missing spring? 3. Drive shaft rubber damper going bad. __________________ 1996 Ti 280k miles and still going.... 1993 964 - holding on to this one 2001 Burban, 240k miles 2018 Suburban Z71 | | | 05-31-2011, 10:14 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: texas Posts: 150 | 130000, I replacedthe clutch a little over two years ago, and was a very careful driver...I replace the Guibo and looked at it the other day....yeah I've heard that the DMF may cause this, but the clutch sure feels great when I drive it, the vibration is only slight, and does it from a standstill as well as when driving. I wanted to jack it up and run it while looking underneath, somehow, maybe take is to a muffler shop so it can be done safely.... They're relatively cheap and you can DIY in about 30 minutes. I replaced mine about a year ago solely based on age/mileage (the mounts were not broken) and the difference was noticeable.
