Default 318 noob here!

My grandfather just passed me down his 96 318ti. I do not know anything about BMWs. I used to have a 03 honda civic si, which i just finished modding and gave to my brother. But i figured this would be the best place to start learning about this car!

I was just wondering what are some good beginner mods that are significant improvements? Intake, Exhaust, Brake Pads, etc?

Any recommendations on first steps to take?

I believe its a base model... so 138hp?

All 1996-1999 are 138hp.

Mods? I'd say find a BMW CCA chapter and go autocrossing.
The are fun cars to drive.

yup, the different packages didn't have different engines

suspension mods are the best place to start, springs, shocks and a BMW x-brace will get you a pretty nicely handling car without breaking the bank, these engines are pretty difficult to tune to make power so handling is definitely their strong point

X-brace is probably the most bang for the buck.
