I'm changing the steering wheel for a deep dish wheel, fitting a hydraulic handbrake, sump guard and a welded diff. I'd welcome all suggestions on how to improve the little car. Engine swaps aren't available to me, neither is any form of forced induction... I'm from N.Ireland btw 🖑😎🖑 Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk | | | 05-28-2017, 06:21 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Welcome. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 05-28-2017, 07:02 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2017 Location: GB Posts: 10 | Thanks Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk | | | 05-29-2017, 12:21 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2012 Location: philadelphia Posts: 217 | I've seen a dakar yellow one once in person, but was confident it was a respray on another color. But no color is nicer. Estoril is close, but never seen that on a ti either. | | | 05-29-2017, 03:06 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by cmoore I've seen a dakar yellow one once in person, but was confident it was a respray on another color. In the UK I believe it was called the SE or Special Edition. http://www.318ti.org/companion/index...d=11,0,0,1,0,0 __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org Last edited by 1996 328ti; 05-29-2017 at 03:09 AM. | | | 05-29-2017, 06:30 AM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2017 Location: GB Posts: 10 | 318ti sport on paper Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk | | | 06-05-2017, 08:23 PM | #7 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | Welcome to the family! Yeah that appears to be the sport model. What does the interior look like? Same as the US sport interior? (cloth centers with leather sides) I notice the slats are painted black in the bumper cover. Is that stock, or was that done after sale? Ours were always body color. | | | 06-05-2017, 08:25 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2017 Location: GB Posts: 10 | Cheers 😁 The interior is full black leather and yeah you're right, a previous owner has painted the slots at some stage. Are they sport seats, or just the regular leather seats? Power adjustable seats, or manual (with a bunch of levers on the side to adjust them). Just curious- no need to answer if you don't want to. Our sport interiors had seats similar to the E30 M3 seats, with leather sides and cloth in the center. You could have red/black cloth with red stitching on the leather (which I have); gray/black cloth with black stitching Man i f that had yellow contrast stitching on the black leather it would look cool! | | | 06-05-2017, 08:44 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2017 Location: GB Posts: 10 | I'm near sure it's full black leather...I'll try and grab a photo here. It's out in the garage and I haven't looked at it in a while lol Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk | | | 06-05-2017, 08:49 PM | #11 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2017 Location: GB Posts: 10 | Yeah, it appears to be full black leather with some sort of pattern on the centres. The seats are manual Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk | | | 06-05-2017, 09:13 PM | #12 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | Yep. Those are the same seats we have, but the textured leather on yours is cloth on ours. This is the only (crappy) picture I have handy- you can sort of see the cloth inserts on the seats and contrast red stitching on the seats and shifter boot. | | | 06-05-2017, 09:25 PM | #13 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2017 Location: GB Posts: 10 | Nice little touch that!
